1 – GENERAL PUPOSE
Provide professionals involved in operations with H2S , with information about health risks and how to work safely.
2 – ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
At the end of the course , the students will be prepared to:
- Conceptualize and indetify confined space area ;
- Selection and use of safety equipment ;
- Entry and Work permit system ;
- Identify risks and hazards when working in confined space;
- Identification and use of gas detectors;
- Calibration of atmospheric testing instruments;
- Practice with gas detectors;
- Hazards and properties of flammable and toxic gases;
- Data interpretation ;
- Preparation of results documentation;
- Have knowledge of detection and security with H2S.
3 – SCOPE OF WORK
Offshore and Onshore professionals who works in industries in general and all activities realized in closed places classified as a confined space with an atmosphere IPVS immediately dangerous to Life and Health (low or high concentration of oxygen and/or exposure to toxic or flammable gases).
4 – TARGET PUBLIC
Professionals who need to plan and execute tasks in confined space with flammable and toxic gas . The special topic is indicated for professionals whose activities may be at risk of contamination with H2S.
5 – REQUIREMENTS
Elementary School Certificate.
To complete the H2S Basic course is recommended that the student have basic knowledge of legislation applied to gas testing in confined space.
6 – TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS TO FOLLOW THE DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE
The courses offered by West Group online use a teaching methodology which activities are organized within a Virtual Learning Environment . Therefore , to participate in a course in the distance learnign modality , you need to have basic knowlodge in computers , specially knowing how to navigate over the internet.
7 – METHODOLOGY
The Methodology is through technical handbook, also through dynamic teaching on the content and practical classroom with demonstration of equipment and application of procedures , close to instructor in face to face tutoring. At the end of each module of the course,a list of exercises will be applied.
