1 – GENERAL PURPOSE 

Train the professionals in safety and prevention in accidents with electricity in the Electrical Power System, in compliance with the text of NR-10, considering the Administrative Rule MTPS no. 508, of April 29, 2016, accrediting them to the authorization for works in electrical installations in areas of high voltage.

Considering the various branches of activities in the SEP, this course addresses the concepts of safety related to all levels of tension, as well as to the generation, transmission, distribution and consumption phases; including other non-specific activities involving high voltage (eg painting professionals performing work inside a substation).

2 – ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

At the end of the course, the student will know about:

• Identify possible risks arising from incorrect practices with electricity;
• Identify the risks of your work environment;
• Apply the internal rules of the company;
• Inform the participants of the minimum conditions required by Law (NR-10 Regulatory Norm);
• Ensure the safety of the employee working in low voltage electrical installations, in its various stages, including design, execution, operation, maintenance, remodeling and expansion, as well as the safety of users and third parties;
• Use the minimum procedures for high voltage work;
• Make and identify a temporary ground. (if this is applied to the collaborator’s work);
• Use locks, collective protection equipment and personal protective equipment.

3 – SCOPE OF WORK

All Professionals working with high voltage electrical installations and in the EPS (Electrical Power System), and to all those interested in training in the complementary course of EPS.

4 – TARGET PUBLIC

The EPS course is designed for professionals who work in high voltage areas and who have taken the Basic NR-10 course.

5 –  REQUIREMENTS

Have participated, with satisfactory use, of the basic course of safety defined by the NR-10 of 40h. The candidate for training must be in minimum conditions of physical health, attested by medical examination or equivalent, in order to be considered fit to perform the exercises and simulations foreseen in the course.

6 – TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS TO FOLLOW THE DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE 

The courses offered by West Group Online use a teaching methodology in which the activities are organized within a Virtual Learning Environment. Therefore, to participate in a course in the EAD modality, you need to have basic knowledge in computer science, especially to know how to navigate and to conduct researches in the internet.

7 – METHODOLOGY

It will happen through the course manual, also through a dynamic teaching on the content. At the end of each course module, a list of exercises will be applied. During the face-to-face class, some topics will be specifically addressed to the working conditions characteristic of each branch of each student, operation pattern, level of tension and other peculiarities specific to the particular type or condition of activity, being obeyed the hierarchy in the improvement of the worker.

The course has a workload of 40 hours

9 – VALIDITY 

The course is valid for 2 years.

 According to NR-10, biennial recycling training must be carried out and whenever there is a change of function or change of company, return to work or inactivity, for a period exceeding three months, significant modifications to the electrical installations or exchange of methods, processes and work organization.
